I am starting work next week. After 8 months being a stay-home mom, I am more than ready to go back to work. Except my wardrobe. I need to travel for my first week of work. The pressure getting warm business clothing is on because our weather has just fast forwarded to Fall in the state of Alberta. Fall doesn’t start until September 22 (next Wednesday) but since early this week temperature are already down to the single digit during the day and dipped below zero overnights. Not only that, we also have some snowfall today and frost warning for tomorrow morning. Summer seems to be long gone, furnaces are already running at homes and it really feels like winter now. Brrrrr…..
So for my business trip next week, let’s see what I am missing in my wardrobe. I need
- a warm and professional-looking coat
2. a few pairs of thick business pants
3. a few pairs of tights
4. a pair of formal and comfortable leather boots
AND
5. a pair of leather gloves
Kay has a little wardrobe crisis too. Yesterday, the babysitter told me Kay’s jacket is not thick enough for cold weather like this. I happened to bought Kay a thicker jacket the same day and I was very happy to let her wear that today only to find out that her hood doesn’t stay on under strong wind. Grrrr….. Not only that, Kay is missing a toque and a pair of mitten too. (ha chew!)
Looks like I am going to break the bank to fix our wardrobe. @.@

You got to be careful with Canadian weather. I can’t imagine how that cold would be like but this year I should got one of those professional looking coat (Cotton though) without bundling up like a black garbage bag! An A-line wool 2 top button overcoat which might not be enough for harsh winter.
Thick trousers are good, but I used thick tights (like long Johns) so that I could still wear my thin trousers from Malaysia. Low waste is great with flair towards the lower legs. Not picky about gloves, just so in-the-way! But I definitely Luuvvvvvvvvv.. BOOTS! I have an ankled one, a half-thigh one, just need a knee-high one with comfortable soles to complete the look! LOL.
Let us know what you got eventually!
Knee high boots are so uncomfortable though they look good. I like boots too but I will need some training and experience to pick a comfortable one. Will find time to update you on my new wardrobe. Stay tuned!!
Travel by not being in-house or away from the city for some days? Those clothing look so remote to me.
I will be traveling to another city….some outdoor but mostly indoor. Come visit me when my new home is ready and I can introduce you to some shopping of Spring and summer clothing! Then you can wear them to visit us every year.
hahaha! Really wish to visit you one day. Have been talking about that since P was there but still not materialised….
Well, you guys can come visit together this round. Start planning lah….
